Peer Productions x Gosden House School

Generation Girls Online

Generation Girls was a project for Autistic girls and girls with learning disabilities, which used drama to teach girls about themselves, their bodies and their relationships.

Since 2014, Generation Girls has taken the form of a 10-week empowering drama programme led by female facilitators and supported by a team of trained female peer educators aged (18 - 21). Topics included self-esteem and body image, healthy relationships, and mental health.

The pandemic forced the project to innovate and Peer used innovative Prospero technology to make 8 interactive smartscripts that girls and their families accessed from home.

For DISRUPT festival, members of the Peer team demonstrated the work and shared insights into the challenges of tackling sensitive topics with vulnerable learners in such a challenging time.
