While we know that we will not be able to solve many of these systemic issues, we hope that DISRUPT can impact the processes and structures by which organisations, artists and communities collaborate, thereby creating more open, inclusive and democratic ways of working.

DISRUPT therefore aims to:

  • Commission new and experimental performance-based projects created with, by and for communities during the pandemic.

  • Build skills for new or different ways of working in the performing arts, including practical steps on how communities, artists and organisations can collaborate more equally.

  • Explore alternative and more democratic futures for the performing arts.
